that as a product manager or developer or both, you shouldn’t forget the value of the product to your customers. Just giving away something for free doesn’t cut it. You need to understand what you are giving away to your customer, why and make sure your customer understands it.
Only then do you do your job of contributing value to your customers. Giving a product/service away for free is not an excuse to let the customers figure out a way to assign a value. Because, by sheer nature, and by economic law, it loses value and it always ends up in the lowest common denominator.
