The biggest problem in a small team is that UI design is something people do not agree on. So either
1. You should have only one authority making the UI design
2. There should be an actual brainstorm of the UI design with the stakeholders who can actually rationally accept logical decisions, with the ultimate decision power in the hands of the UI designer/product manager, but not at the whim and fancy of a CEO.
The problem is when people are not competent enough to handle the responsibility or when people give way to emotions and ego. Then, BIG problem!!
